The men behind MEATliquor, Yianni Papoutsis and Scott Collins will open their fourth London restaurant in Islington this November. Pulling up in an abandoned Citroen garage on Islington’s Upper Street, in a site that has played host to many pop-ups in recent years, MEATliquor will once again jump-start an unloved space.
The Islington opening will be the first London opening since MEATmission in December 2012. The new Islington space will be spread across an old garage, workshops, offices and storerooms, with the newly unearthed cellar and basement.
Along with bringing tried and tested classics including The Dead Hippie, Dirty Chicken Burger, Deep Fried Pickles and Chili Cheese Fries, the evolving menu will also feature MEATliquor SINgapore dishes including Sambal Wings, Sambal fries and Buffalo Shrimp.
Commenting on the new restaurant, Co-founders Scott Collins and Yianni Papoutsis, said:“We never expected to open on Islington’s Upper Street, the property came to us and it was something we couldn’t turn down, we hope to do it proud.”
MEATliquor N1 is due to open in Islington November 2015.
