Kim Castle releases his second single, “Spain,” featuring Lisa Rockfield!
When you have a title like “Spain”, you automatically think of amazing memories in some of the fantastic cities of Spain. The single doesn’t let down, with its euphoric catchy beat you can be sure this one is a great dancefloor anthem! The production is top quality and Kim Castle and Lisa Rockfield represent a perfect mix in terms of collaborators. We decided to catch up with Kim for an exclusive interview for Camden Monthly…
What inspired you to get into music?
Since I was a little kid, I remember browsing my father’s LP collection. Our house was always filled with musical instruments, maybe not of top quality, but good enough to jam on. Remembering totally digging Davis Bowie’s Hunky Dory when I was 6. I started to play in my first band when I was 13 years old and got into producing electronic music when I was 18 or so.
How would you describe your music?
I have several musical projects, but with my solo act, Kim Castle, I tend to mix between Deephouse, EDM, electronic pop, and electronica.
What would you say is your recording and songwriting style?
Hmm. Good question. I usually work with several songs at the same time. Not at the same-same time, but when I´m in the groove and get a bit tired of one track, I can always jump over to another. And when I work with that other song, I get inspired to go back to the first one. I sometimes put in a subtle hint from one song to another just for fun. No one seems to notice that, anyway.
Where would you like to see your music career in 5 years’ time?
The music industry is crazy, so it would be equally crazy to predict anything. But I´m hoping to see myself pacing some cool venues with ecstatic fans worldwide, of course.
Where can music fans listen to your music?
My music is distributed to all the major music streaming services. Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify, to mention some. Here´s a link to my Spotify artist page by Clicking here
