Josh T Dunn is an artists who was influenced by other great musicians such as Adele , Miley Cyrus , LMAFO , Micheal Jackson , Pitbull , Justin Timberlake. Josh has recently released new single ‘Bare’ and by the sounds of it, we all believe it is his turn to shine. So, Camden Monthly caught up with Josh T Dunn for an exclusive interview to find out more about his passion and off course the new single ‘Bare’.
What inspired you to get into music?
Music, and performance have always been such a huge branch of expression for my friends/family and I. I would say my biggest inspiration for how I got into music is my family and how it moves us.
How would you describe your music?
Honestly it’s hard to put a genre or a sound on my music because I grew listening to everything from funk to R&B to house/dance all way to hip hop, but I can say it’s definitely a fusion of all those elements with a feel good wave. I look forward to showing different sides of myself in future releases to come. Look out for it!~
What would you say is your recording and song writing style?
I would say my writing style is dynamic,but without the given rules of song structure. I try to approach everything I write with an open mind. Every song for me is a chance to show a different side of my self. As humans we are always changing so I try to express that through my writing for all of my songs. Also with my dance background, performance plays a huge role for me. I’m very much an artist who pays just as much attention to the performance, as I would for the songs I’m writing. I want the visuals weather it be the choreography or a music video to be an extension of the music. I think the visuals should help bring the music to life in a different way, show a different color.
Where would you like to see your music career in 5 years time?
In five years from now, I hope I can build a stronger following of people who can genuinely relate to my music and find find it as something they can express themselves through. The way music has for me.
