Papa Shiraz’s story in music started when he was 4 but has come a long way since then having developed his unique style as a musician with a passion for making futuristic music, catchy and vibrant sounds with a message. The R&B/Trap/EDM artist has perfected his own unique style which you can find in full effect via his new single ‘Summer 2020’. The track certainly has the words hit written over it. We decided to catch up with Papa Shiraz for an exclusive interview for Camden Monthly..
What inspired you to get into music?
I really can’t explain this one. It’s not like I can get out of it, at this point it’s like a disease, i can’t stop writing songs.
How would you describe your music?
I love making uplifting music with a touch of sadness. I’d say this particular song addresses all the cliches of summer songs, and how we can’t do it this year but it’s fine. I try to make the feeling of summer into a song.
What would you say is your recording and song writing style?
I started as a rapper, but I’m firstly very lyrical. every line has to have some wit to it, it has to be poetry. First I usually think of a concept and story and build a song around it.
Where would you like to see your music career in 5 years time?
I see myself being really big; it’s so clear to me that this is the path chosen for me.
Where can music fans listen your music?
I’m on all social media @papashiraz on insta and @papa_shiraz on twitter
