The Stick up Boys release new single ‘Lockdown Baby’

The Stick Up Boys  approach to electronic pop music is orchestrated by an anonymous collective from Brighton, UK. Borrowing influences from modern EDM and electronica as well as the most notorious of the 80’s pop scene, the Stick Up Boys have been heralded as the “new sound of urban pop music”. Their unique and fresh sound is generated from their much beloved analogue synths, their extensive experience in a wide range of musical styles, as well as their collective talents as writers, performers, producers, vocalists and multi-instrumentalists. Their most recent song Lockdown Baby (James Blacks Nice With Ice Remix) is  a prime example of the Stick Up Boys foreboding, yet hypnotic approach to sound as they weaves loops of electronic tapestry of menacing synths.

Lockdown Baby is certainly inspired by the recent lockdown. It is a vibrantly trippy blend of flitting sounds, from buzzing bass notes to twisting electronic fuzz, bright, but wavering notes, and clacking. The track is certainly an anthem and a solid show of quality that the boys are certainly on their way to the top and judging by their collection of songs on Spotify, It is only a matter of time. We decided to catch up with The Stick Up Boys for a brief interview for Camden Monthly..
